Members of the Illinois HomeCare and Hospice Council (IHHC)’s Levels of Care Committee are available to deliver an on-site presentation titled “From Policy to Practice: Navigating Nurse Delegation in Home- and Community-Based Care.”
Nurse delegation in home- and community-based settings is a crucial innovation in care delivery, especially as the demand for home-based care continues to grow with an aging population and a focus on aging in place.
During this session, the presenters will discuss:
- Regulatory support and policy advocacy
- Task shifting and delegation protocols
- Patient and family education
By embracing these innovative practices and strategies, nurse delegation in home- and community-based settings can effectively meet the evolving healthcare needs of individuals and communities, improve access to care, and enhance the quality of life for patients receiving care at home.
Objectives for attendees:
- Understand what nurse delegation means.
- Understand the education needed for the nurse and the delegatee.
- Understand how to develop clear policies for nurse delegation ensuring that tasks are delegated appropriately and safely.
CE credits will be available.
