History
Wellspring Personal Care was started in 1993 in Chicago, at a time when not many personal care and home nursing services were available. Since then we have cared for hundreds of clients of all ages, from children with profound disabilities to older people intent on aging in their own homes.
Wellspring’s founder, Sheila McMackin, has long been a leader in the field of home care, understanding the need for both education for consumers and licensing for providers. She was the founder and first board president of the Home Care Association of America, formerly the National Private Duty Association (NPDA). HCAOA is a national trade association representing nearly 3,000 companies that employ more than 500,000 caregivers across the United States. In addition, Sheila’s early work with the Illinois chapter of the HCAOA helped establish licensure requirements for providers of private duty home care in Illinois. Her commitment to quality and accountability has helped advance the home care industry both in Illinois and nationwide.
As the demand for in-home care has grown over the decades, so has the Wellspring team. Having started with a small, dedicated team of caregivers, we expanded to include certified nurse assistants, licensed practical nurses, and registered nurses. We now have a team of over 75 serving clients throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Our network of professional partners and referring agencies has grown with us.
When you choose Wellspring Personal Care, you choose experience and leadership. And you are assured of receiving the right care at the right time.
