| Founded in 1993 by Sheila McMackin, a licensed clinical social worker, Wellspring has earned an impeccable reputation, and is regarded as the premier provider of private duty services in the greater Chicago Metropolitan area. Wellspring was the first home care agency in the Chicago area to combine hands on care management with in-home care.
All caregivers are trained and certified home care assistants or licensed nurses who provide the hands on care to meet the special and ordinary needs of our clients. We provide workman's compensation, adhere to all state and federal guidelines in our employment practices and manage all payroll and employee related matters.

Sheila McMackin, MSW, LCSW, President
Sheila McMackin opened Wellspring Personal Care in 1993 to serve older adults and the disabled. Previously, McMackin served as director of client services for Senior Centers of Metro Chicago and as a caseworker for Uptown Community Service Center. McMackin is president and founding member of the National Private Duty Association. Other memberships include the National Association of Social Workers and the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse.
Gwen Watkins, MSW, Director of Marketing and Business Development
With more than twenty-five years in social service administration, including several years as an independent consultant and grant writer for non-profit organizations. Gwen Watkins brings her expertise in managing and developing programs for high risk, vulnerable and often underserved populations to Wellspring where she has been focusing on elder abuse and exploitation issues since 2000.
